MUSTANG STAFF PROUDLY PRESENTS 6th EDITION As the 1963 Yearbook class assembled on Septem- ber 5, the group Was reminded by Advisor John Gal- lagher that only seven months remained until the April deadline at which time the first half of the book must be at the publishers. As the staff later realized these passed all too quickly and at the last minute everyone scurried around making final preparations. After the announcement of Clare Lindenthaler as Editor and Lorraine Tripp as Assistant Editor, section assignments were made and work was begun on the 1963 Mustang. Problems and prinicples of yearbook were discussed, instruction about layout sheets given, and a theme and cover were selected. December marked the opening of sales for the CLARE LINDENTHALER - EDITOR ,63 Mustang. In conjunction with this campaign the staff sponsored the Miss McArthur High Contest. The winner, Carol Bott, was crowned at the South Broward basketball game. At the end of the semester, pages, copy, and pic- tures were in the planning stage. The darkroom crew, photographers, and advertising section workers were busily engaged. In short, all had a task. During the year the Mustang staff attended two clinics-the first a district meeting at Miami Edison High School and the second, the Florida Scholastic Press Association Convention in Miami Beach. These gatherings proved to be of great help to our aspiring journalists. JOHN GALLAGHER - SPONSOR
