The club is a journalistic honor society for students interested in yearbook or newspaper. Thirteen charter members were inducted on April 4, after meet- ing the strict requirements. The students needed a min- imum of 1000 published words and be in the top third of their class. The only project of the year was accepting the re- sponsibility for the senior bulletin board. Although it is a young club, a great future is expected from Quill and Scroll. 1 Members took care of the Senior bulletin board. l QUILL AND SCROLL OFFlCERS Ann Bardsley ..... .............l.....A,....V...,.......................... ANCHOR DAY INITIATED AT MHS Anchor Day was a profitable proiect for members this year. Girls wore sailor hats to school for one day and sold services for a dime. Making slippers for patients at the State Mental Hospital and sending a CARE package were the club's Christmas projects. As in the past, voo doo dolls were made and sold for the home football games. Another project was keeping the MHS trophy case clean. Anchor girls ushered at many functions this year, including the Hollywood Philharmonic Pop Concerts, Seven Lively Arts, and a fashion show at Stranahan. In October a beach party and initiation for new members was held and members attended the regional Anchor Convention.
