STUDENT COUNCIL ACHIEVES REPRESENTATION . . Because of the great influx of students at MHS, the former plan of representation for the schoolls Student Council could not be carried out. Therefore, a plan had to be devised to cut down the number of representatives and yet have equal distribution within each class. This problem was solved by President, Victor Varkonyi, who devised our present plan and made equal student re- presentation possible. ' The Legislative Body as well as the Executive officers Worked hard to arouse enthusiams by selling pep tags, which provided the funds for the Council to function. District 6 Student Council Convention was also attended by our seven leaders. Here they captured many ideas for activities and Student Government im- provement that were later put into effect. Student Government Elections required a great deal of time, effort, and perseverance, but concluded in a happy ending. V The obligations, efforts, and hard Work that our Student Council leaders must endure constantly prove that the offices held are not merely popularity seats. z as . . . and furthermore I promise to Ha! The club is a journalistic honor society for students interested in yearbook or newspaper. Thirteen charter members were inducted on April 4, after meet- ing the strict requirements. The students needed a min- imum of 1000 published words and be in the top third of their class. The only project of the year was accepting the re- sponsibility for the senior bulletin board. Although it is a young club, a great future is expected from Quill and Scroll. 1 Members took care of the Senior bulletin board. l QUILL AND SCROLL OFFlCERS Ann Bardsley ..... .............l.....A,....V...,..........................
