Scdalcw Greatness and genius go hand in hand, the one to see life steadily and to see it whole, the other, to have infinite patience. These qualities are found in Superintendent J. Lyle Hill, whose full experience in the field of edu- cation gives him acquaintance with the minutia of school organization, and whose responsible business ex- perience shows him the intimate relation of a public school to the community. In addition to more than twenty years of teaching and administration, he has had public relations and managerial experi- ence in business. After being graduated from Sunset High School, in Dallas, Mr. Hill went to Austin College, Sherman, where he earned the B.A. degree in history and English, with a minor in political science. This was followed by the MA. degree at The University of Texas, in his- tory and government. Additional graduate work was taken at Fresno State College Qeducationj, South- west Texas Teachers College Qeducationl, University of North Carolina Qhistoryj, and The Univer- sity of California feducationj. College level teaching was done at The University of North Carolina, The Citadel, and Edin- burg Junior College. At Eagle P2155 High School, Mr. Hill taught in his major fields, while being as- sistant football coach and head baseball coach. His public school administrative responsibilities have included principal, McAllen High School, principal, Sierra Union High School, California, and superintendent at Kenedy, then at Refugio. The business experience was as advertising and sales promotion manager, General Electric QTexas Divisionj and as merchandise manager, Lichtenstein's, Corpus Christi.
