N ::,, M, gg 4 . . 7 Fred Turner MHYY DYGW Shirley Landes Bill Lackey enior ,Mafory We, the senior class of '49 and '50, our ears still tinged with green from our junior high days, stumbled into the halls of M. H. S. on September 3, l946. Our first important act as students of M. H. S. was to elect Bob Bartheld, president, Frances Briggs, vice-president, Bill Lackey, secretary, and Alma Reta Jordan, treasurer of our class. Some of us were initiated into the Yannush and Wow Wows, and began participating in the sport life of our school. Others began to take their, places by filling the cast and chorus of lolanthe directed by Mr. Robert Landers. Gaining in knowledge, we advanced to the station of Sophomores. We elected Bill Lackey, president, Wanda Holly, vice-president, Bette Hefley, secretary, and Elisabeth Green, treasurer, to guide us through the year. Again we showed school spirit by taking a very active part in the production of the Mikado, directed by Mr. Landers. This spirit must have been evi- dent, because we won the spirit cup enough times to get our names on it leven though it was spelled wrongl. , As jaunty Juniors, we began to show our real worth. Shirley Landes, president, Fred Turner, vice-president, Bette Hefley, secretary, and Marie Rager, treasurer, were elected as our class officers. We began a sale of school stationery to finance the prom. As a group we were pretty popular and one of our own favorites, Dawn Livingston, was elected Football Queen. We took our share of places in the cast and chorus of Gypsy Troubadour, directed by Mr. Harold Hedges. We ended this year by attending a very beautiful and successful banquet and prom. Now we are Seniors! That long awaited year has come and l think we are both surprised and regretful that the years have passed so swiftly. As our leaders for this last year, we chose Fred Turner, president, Mary Drew, vice-pesident, Shirley Landes, secretary, and Bill Lackey, treasurer. Deloria Hall was elected Football Queen. As the end of the year draws near, we look forward to our senior activities when we can really let go and forget our dignity and sophistication, I0
