emar oae winter night, when 1 wna enjoying a very pleasant evening of quiet medi- tation in my favorite chair hy the fireside, I waa suddenly conscious of a gentle tapping at my door. Upon answering the door, I saw a traveling saleeman working on night duty. He introduced himself as Hr. Future from the city of Tomorrow. He said, 1 travel over the United States selling magic spectacles to seniors who are to write their class prophecies. He began to show me glasses of many shapes ana fashions, all with magic lens which enabled me to see into the future with the greatest of ease. Thus very soon 1 found myself the owner of the black ana orange pair. He baae me fare- well and wished to all the seniors the best of everything. After He left, I put the glasses on and took a peek into the future of our graduating class. There in salvisa, Kentucky, I saw a very talented artist, painting a love scene. The color? A pretty »G y Green. It was none other than Charles Hc- Hurry. In Bondville,Kentucky,I saw Jimmie Sexton, a comedian, writing a comic strip about Pappy Yocum. It seems untrue,but there in Dunean,Kentucky, I saw a lawyer's office.Jfilma Hoore, married to her brother's law partner, was secretary for her husband. das I surprised when I saw Leroy Howard in his florist shop arranging a bou- quet of gardenias an' a rose ! In the headlines of the Mew York Times appeared the following: Heavy Weight Champion Joe Graham Harries Hlllionalre's Laughter. Now who would have be- lieved that? 1 next saw Kenneth dhite, head of the National Athletic Board. Hs had won the titls, Professional Pool Shark. Then I saw a vision of a career girl still Sparks-ing around with Bert. It was none other than Jeanetta Watts. Open your mouth and say ah. Yes, it was Dr. Kenneth lay in his office in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. He forgot his patient when Uargaret Ann Wilham, an attractive nurse, walked by. Can you believe it? I saw Gerald Drury as a flying evangelist. He had re- ceived his flying license, so h« zoomed around in a plane instead of a car. Next I saw an old maid school teacher waiting for an elderly bachelor to take her home from school. It waa Anna Lee HcRay. dho would have believed it? I am almost certain that I saw Brownie Yeager, now a famous sports commentator, breadeasting on WHAS. This is almost unbelievable, but away out in Reno, Nevada, where romance blooms and fades, I saw Evelyn Sexton, married to an ex-sailor. She was writing a book, How To Catch A Husband. The shock of seeing myself in the future made me Jump, and my magic spec- tacles fell from my hand to the hearth and shattered, leaving only the bits of broken glass to prove the entire experience not a dream.
