With Con;1intents: Long Brothers' Used Cars, narrodsnurg, Kentucky Ae the Ship of Knowledge w a cruising down the Sea of Learning, it pulled into harbor at McAfee High School to leave a group of Green Preshmen there to greet their upper classmen and beloved faculty. With willing hands, scheming minus, and an unsurpassed determination to sail forward, we had a successful year under the leadership of our home room teacher, Mr. Bruce Champion. Our class officers were elected as follows: Preeident--Prank Wiley, Vise-Presiuent--Burney MoCoun, Treasurer—Walter Watson, Secretary- Kvelyn sexton, and Reporter—Charles UcUurry. We also enlarged our school life as we Joined various clubs such as Y-Teens, P.P.A., Glee Club, and 4 H. As Silly Sophomores we continued on our cruise with our new officers at the wheel: President--Davis Marksbury, Vice-President—Jimmy Sexton, See- retary--Evelyn Sexton, Treasurer—Burney McCotfn, Reporter—Kenneth White, and Sponsor--Mr. Bruce Champion. We regretted the lose that year of two of our comrades, Mildred Green and Davis Marksbury, but we have strived to carry on without them. We welcomed Kenneth Bell as a new crew member from Salvisa. Our successful Sophomore voyage was closed with a weiner roast at Herrington Lake. When we were Jolly Juniors our crew of the Hornet was enlarged by eleven crew members of the Pair Memoirs who had served two years under the mast at Fairview School. Being thus seasoned sailors, they soon proved fine shipmates and we have greatly enjoyed our continued voyage together. We started our cruise by electing our officers as follows: President-Kenneth White, Vice-Presicent—Kenneth Lay, Secretary—Evelyn Sexton, Treaeurer- Wilma Moore, Reporter--Jeanetta Watts, and Sponsor------Mr. A. T. Hensley. We had lots of fun giving our Junior play, What A Family, under the fine leadership of our sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Speaks. Burney McCoun, Franklin Cole, Howard Gibson, Lafon Wheeler, Kenneth Bell, and Walter Watson left the ship during our Junior year which closed with an excursion voyage to the Great anoky Mountains with the Seniors of 1951. Mow our long, but enjoyable, cruise approaches its climax as we begin our final voyage under the leadership of our ship's officers: President--Kenneth Lay, Vice-President—Kenneth White, Secretary--Evelyn Sexton, Treasurer, Wilma Moore, Reporter—Jeanetta Watts, and Sponsor—Mrs. Lee A. Peavler. Our erew again has lost two members: Prank Wiley and Bobby Poulter. To help compensate for their loss, we have gained two other members: Margaret Ann Wilham and Joe Graham. we feel that our Senior play and year book have been wall worth the effort and heartaches that were endured along the way. The time has now come for us to dock our ship ana depart our separate ways of life. Many of our crew will eail on to more distant cruises in their search for higher knowledge anc many will settle down to a landsman's life. In the tradition of sailors of ages past, we propose a toast to all for the future and give a thanks to all for the past, and say, ere we bid our fond farewells, May all our memories be happy ones! Item: To the Sophomores, we will and bequeath Kenneth Lay's ability to slip out of class at every opportunity; and to the girls, permission is given to enter by the windows instead of the door. Item: we will and bequeath to the Junior Class the ability to run the school. CARRY OH, LEAR JUHIORS! Item: we give and bequeath to our beloved faculty an ample supply of arsenic to end their worries should next year's Senior Class present the same difficulties as the class of '52. Item: As a token of our generosity, we do bequeath to underclassmen these various belongings and personal traits: I. Leroy Howard leaves Anna Rose Grider, much as he hates to, to all the boye who may try to date her next year. II. To Jeannie Cornish and Verna Baker, Evelyn Sexton leaves her ability to oatoh a whole camp of soldiers as well as a handsome sailoz: III. Kenneth White leaves bis beautiful red hair to Lale Stump and his deep base voice to Johnny Reynolds. SIBG IT, JuHHBY! IV. Margaret Wllham wills her dimples to Betty Moore, and the six or eight boys who wait to take her home from work to Patsy Mooney and Charlotte Woods. V. Cornell Hendren leaves a small book entitied Advice to Bachelors to Barry Britton, Joe Kinoaid, and Donald Brown. He doesn't need it any more himself, boys. VI. Gerald Drury leaves his love of blondes of all sizes to Edmond Broughton and John Willie Watts. VII. To Jean Moore and Carolyn Robinson,Anna Lee McRay leaves her fear of being an old maid. VIII. Jimmy Sexton wills his witty mind to David Patterson and his mis- chievous ways to Barbara Mattingly, Minda Gillie,and Margaret Taylor. IX. Joe Graham leaves his well worn adaress book with phone numbers of all available blondes, brunetts, and red heaas, to Lalton Hendren and Bronson Yeaate. X. Charles McMurry leaves his love of night life to Eugene Taylor and Wendell Johnson. Take warning,boysl Instead of seeing stars at night— Charles sees Green! XI. To Bessie S ith ana Jo Ann Sallee, Wilma Moore leaves her sweet aieposition,and her shortness to Mary Joyce Dean and Louise Marksbury. XII. Brownie Yeager wills his one courting night a week to Kenneth Roney, Stanley Watts, and Tinsley Phillips. We do hereby name and appoint Mrs. Lee A. Testator With Compliments: Smock and Gibson Lumber Company, Harrodsburg, Kentucky emar oae winter night, when 1 wna enjoying a very pleasant evening of quiet medi- tation in my favorite chair hy the fireside, I waa suddenly conscious of a gentle tapping at my door. Upon answering the door, I saw a traveling saleeman working on night duty. He introduced himself as Hr. Future from the city of Tomorrow. He said, 1 travel over the United States selling magic spectacles to seniors who are to write their class prophecies. He began to show me glasses of many shapes ana fashions, all with magic lens which enabled me to see into the future with the greatest of ease. Thus very soon 1 found myself the owner of the black ana orange pair. He baae me fare- well and wished to all the seniors the best of everything. After He left, I put the glasses on and took a peek into the future of our graduating class. There in salvisa, Kentucky, I saw a very talented artist, painting a love scene. The color? A pretty  G y Green. It was none other than Charles Hc- Hurry. In Bondville,Kentucky,I saw Jimmie Sexton, a comedian, writing a comic strip about Pappy Yocum. It seems untrue,but there in Dunean,Kentucky, I saw a lawyer's office.Jfilma Hoore, married to her brother's law partner, was secretary for her husband. das I surprised when I saw Leroy Howard in his florist shop arranging a bou- quet of gardenias an' a rose ! In the headlines of the Mew York Times appeared the following: Heavy Weight Champion Joe Graham Harries Hlllionalre's Laughter. Now who would have be- lieved that? 1 next saw Kenneth dhite, head of the National Athletic Board. Hs had won the titls, Professional Pool Shark. Then I saw a vision of a career girl still Sparks-ing around with Bert. It was none other than Jeanetta Watts. Open your mouth and say ah. Yes, it was Dr. Kenneth lay in his office in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. He forgot his patient when Uargaret Ann Wilham, an attractive nurse, walked by. Can you believe it? I saw Gerald Drury as a flying evangelist. He had re- ceived his flying license, so h« zoomed around in a plane instead of a car. Next I saw an old maid school teacher waiting for an elderly bachelor to take her home from school. It waa Anna Lee HcRay. dho would have believed it? I am almost certain that I saw Brownie Yeager, now a famous sports commentator, breadeasting on WHAS. This is almost unbelievable, but away out in Reno, Nevada, where romance blooms and fades, I saw Evelyn Sexton, married to an ex-sailor. She was writing a book, How To Catch A Husband. The shock of seeing myself in the future made me Jump, and my magic spec- tacles fell from my hand to the hearth and shattered, leaving only the bits of broken glass to prove the entire experience not a dream.
