SENIOR CLASS HISTORY iCont'dl On Septemzber 13, 1947, seventeen silly Sophomores re-entered school at Fairview. Nancy Davenport from Salvisa joined our class. This year was cramed full of entertainment such as preparing for a play which we never gave, giving parties, having hay rides and sleigh rides. We had a Debate Club consisting of six members, Jean Sanders. Mary Catherine Taylor, Nancy Davenport, Billy Sanders, Russell Peav- ler, and Bobbie Poulter. These six and their sponsor, J. W. Stevens, went to Danville, Frankfort, Harrodsburg, and the University of Ken- tucky. This year we lost Ernestine Baker, who went to Cornishville. We ended our Sophomore year by taking a trip to Mammoth Cave. In September 1948, ten jolly Juniors from Fairview boosted the McAfee enrollment to twenty. Devola Cole decided to stop school but we gained two from Cor- nishville. namely, Billy Lee Crabtree and Cleo Yates. This year was bubbling over with excitement such asg Hobgob- lin House , our Junior Play and a picnic. The Junior year came to an end with the Juniors taking the Seniors to the Cincinnati Zoo. Now we are dignified Seniors . We have diminished to sixteen. Some were lost to join the ranks with Cupid , This Senior year has been very successful and the play entitled Demon In The Dark was very successful. Now we are beginning to understand what people mean when they say High School days are the happiest days of your life. As we swiftly tread down the journey of life our hearts are saddened by the fact that we must leave McAfee High School. To our lower classmen and teachers we bid farewell .
