“ IWMMWnw; We entered school as Seniors in September 1947. Biglit Fairview students were welcomed as members of onr class. This made us an enrollment of eighteen students. Three new teachers were also added to the faculty. Miss Mellie Matherly, Principal, Mr. Stewart M. Gaunce, Ariculture teacher, Mr. Bruce Champion, Mathmatics and Coach. Miss Neva Woods was the only teacher who had been with us during our first three years in high school. We are proud of our six boys who played on the basketball team. At the end of the first semester, James Paul Long, a veteran, withdrew from school to enter Campbellsville College. We miss him but wish him much success in his college career. The girls also had a basketball team. We played against the junior girls. We had a very good team considering the fact that we had never played before. We presented the Senior Play entitled “Deacon Dubbs”. All the seniors had parts in the play. We shall always be grateful for the opportunities given us by our parents, the Mercer County Superintendent, the Mercer County P.oard of Education and our teachers. We trust that we shall be cit- izens of whom they will not be ashamed. CLASS WILL We, the Graduating Class of 1948, do hereby bequeath to our honorable successors our multitude of virtues and vices. Other peo- ple have black vices, but ours are white. When we commit crime, we’re so sorry—sorry that we got caught. To you dear Juniors, do we oass on our souls tattered and torn though they may be. We know our successors are in doubt as to our surplus of brains, yet we wish to pass on to them our vast intellectual viewpoints. This viewpoint, I might add, is more than national. It is Internat- ional. In fact it covers the universe. It’s some viewpoint, let me tell yau! You’ll get dizzy trying to hang on to it. ■ 'A''1
