Warren 13 A Gentle Man His place cannot be filled, for it was not a void His nature is not stilled since others lives are bouyed Having known and admired one whose values were clear Whose guidance inspired -- whose honor was sincere. A shaper of young lives stands tall among his peers -- And satisfaction derives in the afterglow of years. These qualities impressed, as this life touched others With gentleness stressed, that all men are brothers. He was a gentle man --an upright man indeed -- Sowing, in his plan, a beneficial seed That, in lives succeeding, his example would show To anyone needing, a faith they could know. 14 Marian Benedict Manwell The Lord is my shepard; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for though art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. CLASS OFFICERS: D. Polishuk, President; J. Deigel, Vice- President; Donna LaLonde, Secretary; Denise Kelch, Treasurer. CLASS MOTTO: Yesterday is already a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision; but today well-lived, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Why should trees glisten like white diadems. And the frosty earth glow as though covered with gems? Why does the sun shine from skies of pure blue When our hearts are so heavy, and grief is so new? But why should the day not be brilliant and clear? This morning is lovely for one held so near. Though he passed from this life in and instant of pain He has no regret - he has heaven to gain. This morning, for us, shows a shadow - soon gone - Of the glory he's found in the Lord's perfect dawn. 79 -Marian Benedict Manwell Chris scrambles through th Millinto defence VARSITY FOOTBALL Tim runs for a touchdown ! Tne cagers managed a perfect 20-0 conference record, receiving their only loss from the Elton Piegon Bayport Lakers, which knocked them out of tournament play at the district level. Coach Robert Mabery was named ' 'Coach of the Year''. Gary Kitchen was selected to the All-State first team by United Press International. Other players receiving honors were Terr Diegel (first team All-League), Don Polishuk (second team All- League), Chris Weaver (Honorable Mention All-League), Jeff Diegel (honorable mention All-League). by John LaGraff Terry pumps in another basket The life under the backboards is rough. GIRLS PLACE THIRD The spikers wound up their season with an over all record of 15 wins and 13 losses. The teams conference record was 10 wins and 6 losses which was good for third place in the Big Thumb Conference, Southern Division. This was rated good by Coach Curell, considering the inexperience of the team. However, as individuals they place quite well with Karen Patterson (senior) making All Conference first team, and Ivagene Sutphen making All Conference second team. Graduating seniors were: Natalie Beach, Kathy Leach, Karen Patterson, Irene Amberg, and Marcha Pals. As for next season, Coach Curell says that the sophomores coming up should make next season more successful. I got it, no take it, mine, yours, . . . dam! Paula puts it back over the net. J.V.
