Fryers (Manager), Mr. MacGregor (Coach). The Junior Varsity Basketball team for 1968-1969 wound up with an unimpressive 2-13 season. However the box score was not a real indicator of the time and effort that the boys put into their preparation. If they learned one thing from this season, it was that you don’t give up just because you have a handicap or you don’t quit just because you are behind. This season was rewarding for the Junior Varsity Football team, their record was six wins and one loss. Their success has come about mainly because of their teamwork and determination. JUNIOR VARSITY RASERAU First row: D. Dietz, M. English, T. Tompkins, R. Leiber, L. Hopp, B. Topham, P. Bellor, G. VanSickle, B. Bark- owska. Second row: L. Fryers, G. Stout, T. Marlow, G. Werner, Mr. Mickelson (Coach), The Junior Varsity baseball team won two games at the beginning of the season and two at the end to finish with a 4-4 record. The squad consisted of 19 players, described by their coach, Mr. Mickelson, as ’’exceptionally enthusiastic and dependable.” Most of the players saw frequent action and some made especially important contributions to the team. The pitching duties were handled capably by Bill Barkowska, who received credit for two wins, Frank Osowski and Tom Marlow, each of whom pitched one-hit victories. Leading a strong batting attack were Osowski, .388; Gerald Van Sickle, .385; Jim Bodeis, .375; and Marlow, .292.
