A Thumb Area record was set by Clare Kreger in the 2 Mile with a time of 9:52.4. Phil Stout went to the State Finals in the High Hurdles and Clare Kreger in the Mile where he placed 2nd. Clare also made All-State. Boys making All-Conference were Clare Kreger, first team Mile Run and Mile Relay: Phil Stout, first team High Hurdles; Randy Frenzel, first team Mile Relay and second team 440 Dash; Doug McLellan, first team Mile Relay; Jack McKenzie, first team Mile Relay; Floyd Walker, second team 2 Mile Run; Terry TerBush, second team High Jump; and Don Donath, second team Shot Put. School records set were by Clare Kreger in the 2 Mile; Terry TerBush in the High Jump at 5’ 10 ; teammembers Dave Patterson, Floyd Walker, Dave Frenzel, and Clare Kreger in the 4 Mile Relay with a time of 20:10, Don Donath, Dan Stover, Elvin Johnson, and Jack Johnson in the 440 Shot Putters Relay.

Frenzel, Mr. Weaver (Coach). The 1968 Mayville Cross Country team led by team Captain Jack McKenzie compiled an 8 win 2 loss record, losing twice to the very strong North Branch team. For the fourth year Clare Kreger was voted most valuable team member and proved it by setting a new course record on every dual meet course he ran this year. Vassar Lakers Sandusky Cros-Lex Strong showings by newcomers Floyd Walker and Roger Sholes coupled with Junior Randy Frenzel and a group of good Sophomores helped this team to a good year. This season was rewarding for the Junior Varsity Football team, their record was six wins and one loss. Their success has come about mainly because of their teamwork and determination.
