The season started with the Senior Band march- ing at 7 out of 8 football games, highlighted by the Homecoming Show which was done in the dark fusing lights and fireworks). Again the Mayville Marching Band upheld the long tra- dition of fine marching bands which have made them tops in our area for many years. The Christmas concert was a big success with all of the organizations performing well. This seemed to foretell better things to come, and it did. The Solo-Ensemble Festival was the best in our School's history as the Senior Band brought back 18 lsts and 3 2nds, while the Junior Band added 15 lsts and 4 2nds. The Senior Band received a 1st Division at both the District State Festivals which placed them among the top 5 Bands in their class in the State. A large percentage of our Band Members also received lsts at the State Solo Ensemble Festival, to help close out the Festival Season.
