Smith ss SENIOR BAND All of us at May ville would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our Senior Band on one of the finest seasons in our school s history. , J , , , Starting last fall, the band showed them- selves to be one of the best marching bands in the Thumb. The Homecoming Show (using lights and fireworks) was the talk of the area for w eeks. Mayville has always been noted for fine marching bands. However, this year's band even outdid this fine record. The Christmas concert was one of the best in years and seemed to be an indication of things to come. This turned out to be true as the band brought back more 1st divisions from both the District and State Solo Ensemble festivals than they had in many years. Following this, the band received straight l’s at the District Band Festival, including an A in all categories. This was the best any band has ever done in our school's history. The State Band Festival resulted in another 1st Division rating in which our band placed in the top five class C bands in the state. The Spring Concert, needless to say, was our best in 16 years. A recording was made of both Festival and concert music and was quite suc- cessful. MAJORETTES Members of the Senior Band are: M. Williams P. Konttk, r York E. Bader, E. Smith, J. Kontak, t.
