John G. Mattlte Josephine M. Kildsig Page 'IO Freda M. Sanner ffa Ufmfefwifi LK, ln December of this year one of our best-lilced, most efficient teach- ers, Mr. Mattlce, left Mayville High School to join the armed forces. Mr. Mattlce graduated from the University of Wisconsin, taught one year at Janesville, one year at Roclcford, and three and one-half years at Mayville. At Mayville he had charge of Arithmetic 8, Algebra 'lO, Geometry 'l'i, Practical Mathematics 'lO, and Junior Business Training besides being a Boy Scout leader and a senior class advisor. Ar the time of Writing Mr, Mattlte is a sergeant at Camp Philipps, Kansas. The navy Won out when Miss Kildsig left the Mayville faculty to be married to Chief Petty Qfficer Stanley Bezvoda. Miss Kildsig graduated from the Qshkosh State Teachers College, taught at Shiocton, and three and one-half years at Mayville. English, 7, 8, and 9, coaching extem- poraneous reading, declamations, all school plays and senior class plays, and assisting in Girl Scout leadership were her activities, Mayville lost a fine, cheerful personality and an excellent dramatic coach when Miss Kildsig left. She is novv living in Bremerton, Washington, where Mr. Bezvoda is stationed. This year our efficient f-lome Economics teacher, Miss Sanner, left the teaching profession entirely to talce a much advanced position as the Home Management Supervisor of the Farm Security Administration at Superior. Miss Sanner, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, taught one and-one-half years at Mayville where she had charge of l-lomemalcing 9, 'lO, 'i'i, and 'lQ, part-time and adult homemalcing classes and Future l-lomemalcers of America, and was an advisor for G.A.A. Miss Sanner is widely missed at Mayville and we hope she finds her new profession a happy and successful one. For six years Mrs. Elvie Springer was a most efficient secretary to the superintendent and all around helper for students and teachers, but she has now decided to use her abilities elsewhere. The loss of Mrs. Springer is indeed a loss to Mayville l-ligh.
