The bell bears the name of the donor and the date of its donation: F. Sherin, 1857. .In 1880 the present High School was established with a three-year course. The first principal was J. M. Turner. His successors were as follows: Horace Gibson, J. H. Martin, L. S.4Keeley, M. A. Bussewitz, L. S. Keeley, and R. D. Owen, our present principal. xml The advancement of the Mayville schools has been one of great rapidityg the following studies have been added to the course of study: Music, Draw- ing, Domestic Science, Teachers Train- ing Course, and last of all, a Commer- cial course.
