THEODORE PETERSEN Supervising Principal THE WORTH OF A TOOL The worth of a tool depends upon the user. This is especially true with human intelligence and human growth. However, any tool can be misused. A ma- ture person does not look upon any instrument as one to solve lite's problems. He re-evaluates it, he seeks for improvement. But he makes the best une of what is at hand. Your education is a valuable tool. What you do with it and how you use it depends on you. May you always be dissatisfied with what you have and what you are and thus lead the way to betterment and selt-improvement. Do not misuse the most valuable tool you possess . . . your education! DMINISTRATIO ARE YOU IN CONTROL? As you travel along lite's highways, I wish you HARRIS J. STEWARD Assistant Principal would stop occasionally and ask yourself this ques- tion: Am l in control? There is much over which you have no degree of regulation, but there are many th'ngs that you can govern. You can't control the length ot your life, but you can control the extent of its depth and wideness, You can't control the outline of your face, but you can control its expression. You can't control the other teIlow's opportunities, but you can grasp your own. You can't regulate your height, but you can control your mind. You can't control the other tellow's faults but you can improve your own. Above all, don't worry about things over which you have no control. Get busy and work on those things that depend on you.
