WARRIOR 1966 67 PUBLISHED BY MAYSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL MAYSVILLE OKLA. IN MEMORIAM DARRELL SHRIVER To the Community, the accidental electrocution of Darrell Shriver was a severe shock; to his family, a tragic loss; and to the faculty and student body of Maysville High School, a somber mishap. There are pleasant memories for all who knew him. He showed outstanding ability in athletics and won much honor for himself, the football team and the community as the starting full-back of the high school football team in the fall of 1965. He had a pleasing personality and was well liked by both teachers and fellow students. With mingled feeling of grief and pride, the students of Maysville High School dedicate this issue of the Maysville Warrior to the memory of Darrell Shriver. 2 uu ADMINISTRATION SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS Mr. Noel Vaughn, our very efficient superintendent, came to the Maysville school from Sapulpa where he had served many years as superintendent. Since his arrival many progressive changes have been made in the school system. He is held in high esteem by the community, the faculty, and the student body. His hobbies are sports and fishing. THE SUPERINTENDENT COORDINATES Mr. Vaughn takes a keen interest in student activities. Mr. Vaughn and his teachers cooperate in all school activities. Here he talks to Mrs. Campbell, a primary teacher. Mr. Vaughn, who is listed in Who's Who in American Education received his degrees from East Central State College and Okla- homa University. MR. TACKETT AROUND THE SCHOOL Here Mr. Tackett advises Jon Crouch and Ricky Robinson on Annual procedure. Mr. Tackett frequently counsels with the Students. Here he is talk- ing with Connal Howeth. Mr. Tackett arrives at the Cafetorium for a Faculty Meeting. THE PRINCIPAL SUPERVISES Mr. L. D. Tackett came to our school this year from Pauls Valley where he had served as Junior High Principal for several years. He is very efficient when dealing with students and their problems. He has endeared himself to both students and faculty. Mr. Tackett’s hobbies are television and flying. GRADE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL RAY WHITAKER Mr. Whitaker counsels with one of his teachers, Jackie Jones Ray Whitaker, Grade School Prin- cipal, is helpful to students of Grade School with all their prob- lems. He is equally helpful with athletics on the playground. Here he helps a child with his Math problems. Then, that refreshing period, Coffee Time !!!! FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: Steve Hall, B. R. Terrell, Noble Gamble, Clarence Coe, LaRoy Carson, and Superintendent Noel Vaughn. The members of our School Board are not seen by our students in every- day school life, yet they are a very necessary part of the school system. The Board, working with the superintendent, determines school policies, expenditures, employing of teachers, and many other duties. These Board members give many hours of their time to enable our com- munity to have a better and more efficient school system. The school's personnel and community are grateful to them for their time and effort. 10 INSIDE THE BUILDINGS WE FIND THE TEACHERS PLANNING WORK FOR THEIR DEPARTMENTS Mr. Webb and Mr. Jones plan work for their math classes. Caves and Blackburn plan work for their science classes. Band Director Murray directs the band. 12 Mrs. Ramsey and Mr. McKinley discuss matters concerning FHA and FFA f In the Commerce Department, Mr. Wohl explains to Mr. Tackett how the new electric typewriters operate. 13 mimw—-. ■ ■—. 1 ■ - ■ ■ SENIORS 1 ■•' • '.' 1 ’•,,1 .■'- SENIORS CHESTER D.
