Text from Pages 1 - 128 of the 1957 volume:

For more than a quarter of a century, Maysville High School has stood as a center of learning, not only in our com- munity, but in the state of Oklahoma. Hundreds of students have gone out from this school to take their places in colleges and vocations. The records of achievements which they have left behind and the measures of success which have come to them, indicate that Maysville High School was and is an in- stitution of learning of which any community might be proud to call its own. AND SO . . . In appreciation to all who have helped to maintain Mays- ville High School . . . To the administration which sponsored our education . . . To every teacher and all other school personnel . . . To the patrons and parents who have supported us . . . And So to These to the Maysville Student Not Only for 1956 but for . . . Yesterday TO EVERY STUDENT WHO HAS WALKED . . Who Has Walked Up the Steps . . . and Into the Building . . . or Attended Maysville High School . . . This the 1957 Warrior Is Dedicated Editor, Patricia McWhirter; Business Manager. Linda McKinney; Sponsor, Mrs. H. J. Harris; Mary Beth Denson, Tommy Chamlee. Catherine Morton, Ronald Springfield. Sondra Bolles. David Barger. I Superintendent of School Many times we grow in knowledge, spirit and truth, when we glance behind and take inventory of what has been accomplished. This is especially true of what has been accomplished in the past fifty years in our great state - Oklahoma. You have profited by your own experiences as well as others. Our memory book has grown larger and better each year and you should endeavor to continue that progress. We are doing one of two things, growing in knowledge and appreciation for the better, or else we are going backward in the same. There is no happy median for progress in knowledge. In keeping with our semi-centennial progress, may you not lose sight that this is applicable to the progress of our yearbook and especially the lives of you as students. May the knowledge thus far attained, aid you in making the next fifty years a greater period of progress, one in which you will have the power to make greater, if you so desire. The only way this can be done is for you to be prepared to meet new situations, with a basic foundation of faith and truths learned by your own experience or obtained from others, and on your part, being ever ready and willing to aid those who need it most. You are the ones who will determine how high Oklahoma will rank in the next fifty years. May it be said that your deeds and works in the next fifty years accomplish more for you and your fellowman than has been done during these past fifty.
