Maysville Junior Senior High School, despite a record low enrollment during the 1984 85 school year, still managed to have a platinum year. Three new teachers, including two coaches, took posi- tions in the high school. Mrs. Ford, a familiar face around here already, became a permanent member of the staff tak- ing over the freshman English classes; Coach Coldiron step- ped in and helped the Bulldogs struggle through a rebuilding season; and Coach Coffey was instrumental in reviving the comeback of the Lady Bulldogs. Although we missed the teachers who left us, we quickly adapted to our new faces. Attendance was at a record high, and club enrollment top- ped the charts. More students took pride in becoming more actively involved in supporting the school and its functions. The Future Homemakers of America led the school through many activities again this year, including an all new Fashion Show and an ever popular lip sync contest. The Student Council gave a smash performance with homecoming festivities, and the junior class was spectacular in hosting the prom. The seniors scored a hit with their production of Captain Fantastic, and the Foreign Language Club had yet another exciting year. Believe it or not, after a record number of years, renova- tions were finally begun on the MHS gymnasium, and many improvements were made elsewhere throughout the school. But the biggest record of all set this year was when Maysville students actually missed three consecutive days of school due to bad weather. Yes, it truly was a golden year. Maysville High School began operation in 1865. The tradition continues.

m emoriam l icky J4arian JJenderion 3eL 8, 1970-Oct. 13, 1984 Beyond the rainbow's farthest end, there lies A land that's always filled with love and light, Where shadows never fall and dim the skies; For in this lovely land, there is no night. In this celestial place of joy and peace, There is no time or space, no doubt or fear; For those who come to it, all troubles cease. All worldly difficulties disappear. And though the loss of loved ones or of friends Brings sorrow and is hard for us to bear, If we could see beyond the rainbow s end We know that uA would find them wailing there In that celestial dwelling place above — The land of peace and joy, of light and love.
