Text from Pages 1 - 104 of the 1984 volume:

And Two Became One And so we remain, altered somewhat, but thanks to the voters of Maysville, the doors of MHS will be open for the future. So began the 1983-84 school year — a renovated third floor to house junior high students and a three percent utility tax that insured the continuation of the Maysville City Schools. The Maysville Junior Senior High School brought lots of new faces in the form of seventh and eighth graders and faculty, as well as a new principal, Mr. Sam Hall. The third floor was remodeled to accommodate these students and a new library was built. The two schools operated together with no difficulty. This year proved that consolidation was possible and two became one — Maysville Junior Senior High School. The play, directed by Miss Mary Beth Helton, was given Nov. 21 and 22. The plot revolved around Wilbur Max- well, played by Stephen Meadows, who decided to rent out the family home (in the absence of his parents) in order to raise It’s easy to be rough, just act like Miss Helton. Many comical situations and unforeseen circumstances followed. Cast members involved in the succession of crazy events were: Sean McHugh, Wilbur’s co-conspirator Hercules; Angela Ockerman and Tim Taylor, Wilbur’s parents; Paula Haughaboo and Darlene Lucas, Wilbur's sisters. Philip Hay was the robber Limpy McGuire and Kim Elliott was his wife Nora. George Shelton was cast as Her- man Ninety-Volt” Jones and Joyce Hunt played his wife, Roughhouse Ruby, a former wrestler. Others included Kelly Skaggs, an insurance man; Tammy Henderson, a walking encyclopedia; Lisa Huron, a character who never spoke a word but stared at everyone; Robert Beckley, a policeman; Kim Marshall, Wilbur’s aunt; and Lisa Wilson, a close friend.
