We have crowded many happy and helpful experi- ences into our years of high school. We are now leaving our precious high school days to go into the world to continue our education or to work, hoping to be successful citizens of America. Back in September of 191+8 nine of us started our happy school days at May's Lick together. We were: Dolores Butler, Barbara Duncan, Lula Fulton, Glen Huber, Sandra Lawrence, Mickey Manion, Louise Pogue, Judy Turner, and Betty Vice. Joining us in the second grade from Vanceburg was Phil Barbour. Coming to us in the fifth grade was Carl Mitchell and Connie Gallagher came from Sardis in the sixth grade. Myrtle Moore came to us in the fourth grade from Lewisburg. Joining us in the seventh grade was Gerald Orme from Sardis. When we entered high school in the fall of 1956, we had several members join us. From Sardis came Charlie Clary, Ethella Dillon, and Patsy Prather. From Lewisburg came Sandra Crosby, Doris Gilkerson, Carolyn Grigson, Marie Taylor, and Louise Tierney. Velma Linville came from Ripley this year. Also joining the class was Pat Stanton and Herman Frodge. Miss Glynna Hayes was our sponsor this year and for our officers we elected Dolores Butler as Pres., Ethella Dillon as V-Pres., Betty Vice as Sec., Patsy Prather as Treas.. and Judy Turner as Reporter. Also during this year Dolores Butler was voted the Halloween Princess of the school. During our freshmen year five of us were elected to serve as the B Team cheerleaders. We were: Dolores Butler, Mickey Manion, Myrtle Moore, Patsy Prather, and Judy Turner. Next came our sophomore year. This year we welcomed from Sardis Ronald Adamson, Phyliss Beckett, Darrell Cracraft, Pearl Cracraft, Calvin Fulton, Joyce Gifford, and from Washington came Sue Chandler, Cecil Bradford, Mason Collins, Martha Eldridge, Victor Hodge, Ruby Hopkins, Faye Lowe, Carol Porter, Todd Rosser, Odell Schiltz, and Raymond Simmons. Jerry Cooper came from Sardis this year also. Miss Hayes was again our sponsor and for our officers we elected Pat Stanton as Pres., Betty Vice as V-Pres., Ethella Dillon as Sec., Dolores Butler as Treas., and Darrell Cracraft as Rep. During this year we were very happy to have two members serve on the varsity cheerleading squad. They we® Phyllis Beckett and Faye Lowe. Also this year we had five members to serve on the B Team cheerleading squad. They were Dolores Butler, Connie Gallagher, Velma Linville, Mickey Manion, and Judy Turner. It was in March of our souh. year that we lost our gymnasium and number of our classrooms in a dis- astrous fire, but even with this disadvantage, we successfully pulled through on top. It was back in our freshmen year that four members joined us from the May's Lick Elementary School. They were Charles Boulden, Mary Jones, Mary Ruth Ramsey, and Nancye Carol Turney. Next came our junior year and Miss Jean Brannon was our sponsor. For our officers we elected Dolores Butler to serve as Pres., Mason Collins as V-Pres., Ethella Dillon as Sec., Carl Mitchell as Treas., and Faye Lowe as Rep. The greatest event of this year was our Junior-Senior Prom. The theme of our prom was Blue Hawaii. It was indeed a very beautiful and memorable event of our high school life. Another great happening was when we received our class rings. During this year we had three members on the varsity cheerleading squad and they were Martha Eldridge, Faye Lowe, and Louise Tierney. At the end of this year we lost Darell Cracraft., Herman Frodge, Carol Porter, Patsy Prather, and Raymond Simmons. Now, being our Senior and last year of high school, we have had our most enjoyable year of all. Our sponsor again is Miss Brannon who has been wonderful to us. Our class officers are Mason Collins, Pres., Pat Stanton, V-Pres., Lula Fulton, Sec., Gerald Orme, Treas., and Sandra Crosby, Rep. Three of our boys have shown forth outstanding ability on the basketball court throughout their high school years and they are Mason Collins, Charles Clary, and Carl Mitchell. Two of our seniors were elected as the Halloween Queen and King this year and they were Ethella Dillon and Mason Collins. Also this year five of our seniors served on the varsity cheerleading squad and they were Phyllis Beckett, Ethella Dillon, Louise Tierney, Judy Turner, and Betty Vice. We are very proud of several of our members for being outstanding (Continued) Senior Class History (Cont) members of the Beta Club which is a club for outstanding ability in character, leadership, and scholarship. These members are; Dolores Butler, Phyllis Beckett, Charles Boulden, Sandra Crosby, Janice Day, Lula Fulton, Doris Gilkerson, Ethella Dillon, Charles Clary, Carolyn Grigson, Mary Ruth Ramsey, Todd Rosser, and Betty Vice. We had three of our members to represent the Beta Club at the State meeting and they were Dolores Butler, Sandra Crosby, and Carolyn Grigson. Also three of our girls are working to attain their State Homemaker Degree and they are Dolores Butler, Sandra Crosby, and Lula Fulton. The class is now looking forward to that long waited-for trip to Washington. D. C. in May.
