Senior Class History We again as seniors of May’s Lick High School wish to leave a memory of our past with the upper- classmen Into our years of high school we have crowded many helpful and happy experiences. We are now leaving our dear high school day to go into the world to continue our education or to work, hop- per to be successful citizens of America. In September, 1941, three of us started our happy school days at May’s Lick. We were Joyce Paynter, Nathan Butler and Norma Graves. The next year we were happy to welcome Rosanne Kachler from Ewing into our class. Clara McVey joined us from Bethel in the sixth grade and Buddy Cropper came from Flemingsburg in the eighth grade. Then came the fall of 1949 when we entered high school as the Green Freshmen Class. Another member, Stanley Campbell, who came from Sardis, was in our group then. Miss Pauline Smith was our sponsor. Our officers were Joyce Paynter, President, Buddy Cropper, Vice President, Melvin Caywood, Sec- retary, and Wanda Roberson, Treasurer. An exciting event of this year was when we were initiated into the FHA and FFA Chapters. Next came our Sophomore year. This year com- pleted our group when we welcomed Gayle Barbee, Ruth Stevenson, Joyce Emmons, Wilma Mason, Clin- ton Wilson, Chester Dugan, and Allen Morgan from Washington, Allene Newdigate, Mary Irvin, Marian Bell, Audra Hill, Virginia Marshall and G. M. Bierlin from Lewisburg, and Charles Benson from Irvine. Mrs. Louise Linville was our sponsor. Our officers were Nathan Butler, President, Hank Barbour, Vice President, Delores Duncan, Secretary, and Barbara Owens, Treasurer. Then came our Junior year, which brought many interesting and exciting adventures. Our class officers were Nathan Butler, President, Hank Barbour, Vice President, Joyce Paynter, Secretary, Rosanne Kachler, Treasurer, and Norma Graves, Reporter. In May we gave cur Junior-Senior Banquet. Our theme was “Old Fashioned Garden”. It was the most enjoyable occasion of the year. Another exciting event that year was when we received our class rings. Now as we are Seniors, we think back over the last three years of our life and High School career. We have, no doubt, had hard knocks and bumps, but we have enjoyed each year as we will never enjoy any future years. This being our Senior and last year we have hac the most enjoyable year of all. Our sponsor is Mrs Loiuse Linville, who has been wonderful to us. Oui ■ot .icers are Buddy Cropper, President, G. M. Bierlin wee President, Allene Newdigate, Secretary, Gayk ■UarbrS?’.
