CLASS WILL We, the Senior Class of Mayodun High School, being reasonably sound of mind, in the year nineteen hundred fifty-three, on the thirtieth day of May, do declare this writing to be our last will and testament, hereby making void all other testimonial writing or writings heretofore made lpyllus. We do hereby will and bequeath all property, both real and personal, to be bestowed as o ows: SECTION I I. To the rising freshmen we leave our interest and love for our school, and a little sound advice. Make the most of your next four years! II. To the rising sophomores we leave our carefree year of good, clean fun as sophomores. III. To the rising juniors we leave our wishes for success in the many junior projects. IV. To the rising seniors we leave the joy of being a senior, the hope for the future, and a prayer for a brighter tomorrow. V. To the faculty we leave our thanks for their kindness, patience, and guidance through the four most crucial years of our life. VI. To Mr. Duncan we leave our sincerest thanks, love, and respect, for it is men like Mr. Duncan who make our schools what they are. VIII. To Mayodan High School we give our pledge of loyaltyg we leave the thanks for an education, the appreciation for the understanding that we have found within her wallsg we leave our hearts and minds, for she helped make these hearts and minds what they are today, ready to take us on to reach for higher goals, SECTION I I I. Dixie Dunovant leaves all her dates and good times to Shirley Wray. II. Marilyn Creech wills her ability to get a man and keep him to Lovene I-Ialey. III. Geraldine Perdue leaves her love of Fords to Loretta Lawson. IV. Annette Price gives her smile to Glenda Hicks. V. Carl Veach leaves his good grades to Chick Chandler. VI. Billy Watkins wants to burden the juniors with his bicycle tif any of them can saddle the thingy. VII. Jimmy Reddick leaves all his excess weight to Leon Allred. VIII. To Roger Mulligan goes Howard Cases athletic ability. lMake good use of it, Roger.p IX. Harold Perdue leaves his good sportsmanship to Dan Barrow. X. To all the future bookkeeping students Ola Throckmorton leaves her love for said subject. XI. Sara Joyce wants to leave her sincere interest in school to Betty Lou Duggins. XII. Emily Joyce leaves her car, Mr. Van Buren , to anyone who has the nerve to ride in it. XIII. Glenda Lawson leaves her flirting ability to Deane Smith and to Loretta Lawson. XIV. Molly Tulloch reluctantly leaves her love for boys to Dean Noell, Delores Martin, Glenda Lou Lewellyn, Jean Carter, and Mable Richardson. XV. Eva Jean Atkins leaves her basketball suit to Kathrine I-Iolt in hope that it will fit her. XVI. Loretta Ledbetter gladly leaves Shirley Atkins her ability to study, if it will do Shirley any good. XVII. Maxine Duggins leaves her interest in soldiers to all the patriotic juniors. XVIII. To Betty Ruth Wheeler goes Pattie Tuttle's seat beside the door. XIX. Perry Tucker says he just wants to leave, and leave fast! XX. Reluctantly Willie Faye Woods leaves Sonny to anybody who can take him away from her. XXI. Steve James wills his sweet nature to Carlton White. XXII. To Bill Patterson goes Daniel Smith's book reports. XXIII. Paul Duggins wills his car to anyone who has the money to hx it. XXIV. Jane Wray leaves to the boys of the junior class her over-used motto, Better late than never. XXV. I, Nelda Joyce, will my chief cheerleaders' suit, my big mouth, and my boy friends to Charldean Joyce. fShe gets the boy friends anyway.J I3
