ll. Mrs. Chuck Pittman, the former Delano Fouts of our class, is noxx owner of the Mayo Radio Station up on top of Mayo Mountain. 12. Girls, have you heard! Ann Purgason is now operating her own Reducing Salon in Chicago. Wlien you go to Chicago, look Ann up. 15. Remember little ole Adlee Hutchensn? Wc'll. she has grown quite a bit since her high school days. She is the fat lady in Barnum and Baily Circus. 14. Bobby Myers, formerly Rosa , is still an old maid, she just couldnt make up her mind which she had rather be-a singer in the Diamond Horseshoe or a housewife in Leaksville. Shipton got tired of waiting. 15. After Johnny Sisk's many years of experience as treasurer of our class. he is now President of the First National Bank in Sandy Ridge. 16. As the Brains of the class of '51, we now see Fsther Martin in XX!ashington, the first woman vice president. 17. After winning the title, Miss North Carolina, we find Connie Cray a Powers model in New York. 18. From managing Mayodan High Schools ball team, Charles Martin climbed into the big leagues. He is manager of Madison Quicksteps. 19. Louise Vernon finally got her a man, after running around for years husband- hunting. She is married and has nine kids 20. Francis Hurd-- Tankie -has finally sworn off women and is running a short-order house next to a Catholic Monastary in Rome, Italy. 21. Mrs. Bugs Anderson, formerly Janice joyce, is now working as manicurist in her husband's barber shop. Her sons-six of them now-are shoe-shine boys. 22. Roger hloyice is at home on vacation after leading a famous hunting expedition in South Africa. 23. Merle Baughn, after singing for years at W. F. M. B., is now up in society with Spike Jones and his City Slickers. 24. After taking advice from Coach Moore to save money, blohnny Martin put up his own cigarette store in Pine Hall. 25. Last of all, l am proud to say that 1, Mickey Pike, was in school with such ll distinguished group-even if 1 cant say that 1 contributed to their fame, except to have told the BlCfiG1lST l,11iS.

PROPHECY LOOKING BACK ON THE crass or '51 or MAYOOAN HIGH scgnooi. Time: May 31, 1961. ..1,17 . ten years from my graduation. Place: Mayo Lake. Occasion. Reunion of the Class of '5l. As I look around me, l see familiar faces, for some of my classmates have become well known since they left old Mayodan High School. 1. Hurrah for Tommy Chambers! After trying for so long to coach football, ht' finally has succeeded, and is now head coach of Mayodan Bone Crushers. 2. After her many years of experience in English, lrene Craig is now teaching that subject in Mayodan High School. 'v 3. Mrs. Buster Tucker, formerly Peggy Atkins, is now a housewife in Ellisboro. takin care of her twins Lero and Vernon. 7 4. After playing around for years, Bill Price has at last settled down with his family of eleven kids-at present. Good Luck Bill! 5. Linda Shreve is now a life guard at Mayo Lake. She is the only Old Maid Lifeguard in North Carolina. 6. Moptop tRayJ Shaffer, is using his fingers to good advantage these days. He is chief beautician at Opies Beauty Salon in Madison. 7. Bud Smeller Hodge has made quite a name for himself since high school days. He is official sniffer for the Enchanting Perfume Company of Possum Town. 8. Rahn Boyer has gone far since '5l. The night of graduation he saddled up and has been a Texas Cowboy ever since. 9. The Maestro -from Carnegie Hall to johnnysg from Gibsons to the Metro- politan Opera House, Joe Edwards is still the only piano player that can hit more notes with his nose than with his hands. 10. Remember Bernice Martin, the Tooter of our class of 51? Well, she tootered her way to Stardom. She is secretary to a famous senator in Washiiigton.

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the class of 1951, some slightly erratic, but the majority sound of mind, on this thirty-first day of May, in the year of 1951, do declare this writing to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all other testimonials. and bequeath all property, real and personal, of which we, the testators, are at this time possessed, to be bestowed as follows: SECTION I Article I. Our intense interest in the general welfare of the school shall go to the freshmen. Article II. We will our friendliness and easy-going manner of life to the sophomores. Article III. To the junior class as a whole, we leave our good examples to be followed to the letter, and an innate ability to raise money and to produce better annuals. Article IV. To the faculty, a new frame of mind, one of peace, and with this our deepest appreciation for having so much patience with us during 1951. Article V. To old M. H. S. we leave our appreciation for the ideals and knowledge gained, and for the happy associations during the past four years. Cut best wishes go with you always. SECTION II Article I. To Lib Coleman goes Peggy Jane Atkinss small figure. Article II. Merle Baughn leaves her height to Betsy Chambers. Article III. Delano Eouts wills her love for typing to Loretta Martin. Article IV. To Shirley Ittie Reid goes Connie Grays love for the Glee Club. Article V. Janice Anderson leaves her ability to get her man to Lib Crews. Article VI. To Kay Minton goes Esther Martins love for Spanish. Article VII. Bobbie Myers leaves her bumming to Peggy Myers. Article VIII. Mickey Pike leaves her love for Madison boys to Iris Mitchell. Article IX. Ann Purgason wills her quietness to Kenan Griffen. Article X. To Sue Collins goes Linda Shreves love for sports. Article XI. Tommy Chambers leaves his false teeth to anyone who needs them.
