PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE To The 1977 Graduating Class I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate each of you for having earned a high school diploma. The faculty and admini- stration join with you in your moments of joy and happiness over this noble achievement. High school graduation is unparallel to any other event in your life because it marks the completion of the longest experience you have shared together. Very rarely do we as individuals spend twelve (12) continuous years in school following high school graduation. Because of the uniqueness of those experiences you have had to- gether I would admonish each of you to subscribe for a copy of your annual so that you may refresh your memories of your most cherished experiences for many, many years to come. I. A. Greene Principal

STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE My fellow Mayoites, I would like to thank all of you for helping the Student Council to have the incentive to make this our school year when we began our journey to maturity. Though there are many problems that face our present school system, some problems can be alleviated with the help of each individual student. We can each become more involved in the activities at our school, thereby making a livelier student body and helping break the monotony of school life. We can each also practice our individualism and increase our ability to make decisions alone because our ideas could supply the answer to the problems. We should take pride in ourselves and our school. We should attend the extra-curricular activities which are a vital part of our high school educa- tion, and we each should take advantage of the opportunities for a social hour at our school. Mayo needs each of us from the entering freshman to the graduating senior. Lets all continue to join forces to make ours the number one school in our area. We can easily accomplish this goal if we do our share. Janice Scott 11
