MR. ITALY A. GREENE Principal A MESSAGE TO THE 1970 GRADUATING CLASS On behalf of the faculty and student body of our institution, 1 wish to congratulate you on your first noble achievement in your pursuit of an education — The earning of a high school diploma. I will not bore you with statistics which so emphatically prove that a high school diploma can mean dollars and cents in your budget as you live and work in our capitalistic society. Instead, 1 wish to use this opportunity to encourage you to continue your quest for an education for more intrinsic reasons. A trade certificate or a college diploma is truly a passport to the realm of service to mankind. The world is not only looking for men and women whose earning power is high, but whose brain power is equally as mighty; men and women who can think logically, whose ideals and attitudes are lofty and congenial. Remember that you are approaching your first true commencement, which in itself means beginning. Don’t stop now! Dig this thought, the content of a book is not determined by the color of its binder, nor by the number of its pages, but rather by the skill and quality of the author’s writing. We hope that these years you have spent at your alma mater have provided you with the maturity as well as the knowledge you need to really chart your educational careers. May all of you become happy, productive and worthy citizens in the communities you shall inhabit. May God bless all of you. 8 J?'. Qj ■ Jtyst ,
