A SUPERBOWL SEASON The Tigers began their rigorous season in mid- August, anticipating the start of school and the clash with their opening game rivals. Hopes of topping last year ' s sensational 8-2 season weak- ened. The Clinton Gales breezed by the Tigers The stamina of the Tigers persisted and led them to four consecutive victories. The Tigers faced another defeat against the Milford Scarlet Hawks, losing 4117. The beat- ing, however, did not dampen the will of the team They battled their way through four more victories, including a win over their annual Turkey Day rivals, the Colonials of Acton- Boxborough For the first time in the history of Maynard High School, the football team ad- vanced to the Central Mass Superbowl, where they would square off once again with the Scarlet Hawks of Milford They put up a tough fight, but ended the season with a loss. John Paananen. 104 The 1987 Yearbook Staff We hope you enjoy this 1987 yearbook. We regret that because of the early publication deadline we were unable to include the annual Winter Carnival, but have made every effort to show the life and times of the class of ’87. As usual, the yearbook staff dwindled down to a precious few. Most dedicated were Denise Carron, Suzanne Chiasson, Heather Gerroir, and Cindy Rodday. Row 1: Cindy Rodday, Kristin Burati, Christine Filz, John Paananen Row 2: Renee Dakis, Debbie Siegfriedt, Tonya Romanowski. Mike Steams, Brian Armour Row 3: Kathy Hilli, Denise Caron, Unknown, Unknown. Row 4: Heather Gerroir, Tom Micciche, Greg McMillan, Mark Cashmon. Not present, Suzanne Chiasson Our special thanks to Martha Whittemore for the candids on pages 67 and 79 105 Morris is Graduating! This sassy, plump feline first seen in the yearbook four years ago, is graduating with the class of ' 87! Morris moved from the dumpster into the boiler room about five years ago. He spent all his time eating, sleeping, playing, and purring in peace until he received serious wounds after a close encounter with a dog. Administrators, teachers, and students raised over a hundred dollars for his medical expenses. Today Morris keeps to himself during the day, but goes out on patrol in the evenings when the corridors are less hazardous. After 1987 Morris will take a post graduate course at MHS and then plans to work full time as keeper of the custodial lounge. 107 I What do 1 do??
