Mr Vanana, Science, was a teacher in Waltham before he started teaching at MHS in 1981 He plans to help, ten of Maynard’s best high school students design and construct a giant sling shot to launch Mr. Coan into orbit in an attempt to grab its tail.” 2. Mrs. Wasiuk, Librarian, was at Fowler from 1971 and has been at the high school since 1983 She plans to celebrate the comet, Cosmicully, with a blast of stellar proportions.” As for the class of 1986. “a total burn-out of the first magnitude.” 3. Ms Whittemore has been a Physical Education Instructor in the Maynard Public Schools since 1957. The class of ‘86 she said, “has one or two stars out front and the rest following close behind ” 4 Mr Wing, Science, taught in rural Maine before coming here in 1968. He said. Everyone in the town got along well The name of the town was Harmony.” He thinks our class and the comet are, both way out in space. ” 5. Mrs Wolpe, Special Education, worked for a credit bureau and taught in Hopkinton and Norwood before joining the staff in 1980. She plans to, ” . . view it through a telescope at a local church ” 12

8. Mr Sforza, Special Education, was a teacher at the Perkins School for the Blind before coming here in 1978. He says that, “both the comet and the class of 1986 have the same properties: a head and a lot of gas.” 9. Mrs. Small, Math, taught at Hudson High School for eight years before coming to Maynard in 1982. She likens our class to, “a real ball of fire.” 10. Ms. Smith, Art, had, “many, much more fascinating jobs before coming to Maynard in 1967. She plans to go to a comet party and says the class of ‘86 is, “sometimes brilliant, more often, comatose.” 11. Mr. Stebbins, Social Studies, came here in 1975. Before that, he taught in Connecticut. His plans for the celebration of the comet are very bizarre. He compares the class of 1986 to the comet ' s gaseous matter. 12. Mr. St. Germain, Math, started teaching here in 1971. His big plans for the comet include, “observing and taking pictures of it through a telescope.” 13. Mrs. Trider, Language, has taught in MHS since 1982. She says her telescope is, “ready and waiting,” and, for our class, she predicts, “a future of bright trails encompassing great distances.”
