A school year is made up of hundreds of little mo- ments; some important, some not, but all of them very precious. To do justice to all these special times is really impossible, but that’s what a yearbook is supposed to do. Through much crying, screaming and even a little love. The Class of 1977 has put to- gether a collection of memories of our senior year. It is our hope that these pages may some how help you recall that special time, 1976-1977 at Maynard High School. IN DEDICATION This year, the staff of the Maynard High School Screech Owl chose not to dedicate the yearbook to someone who changed our lives, but to a friend. A friend is someone who will share a laugh or give you his shoulder, regardless of whether you need it to lean on or to cry on. If these things are so, then the 1977 Yearbook is dedicated to the right person. This man has had a long and distinguished teaching ca- reer, and is respected both by his students and his peers. But this man ' s dedi cation for his students and his school goes long beyond 2:25 Athletics-wise, this man helps out with football, track, softball and wherever else he is aked to, as well as being the drive and determination behind the MHS Junior Varsity Basketball team. But this is not this man ' s only responsibility; for the past four years, he has been the guid- ing spirit behind the memory book of MHS, the ‘Screech Owl. With this year ' s “Screech Owl,” The Yearbook staff attemp- ted to do something a little special, a little more personal for the Class of ’77, and, in doing so, we departed radically from the traditional yearbook form. Rather than hold us back, this man not only pushed and prodded us toward our goal, but led us all the way. This book is as much a part of him as it is of our class. And so, the 1977 Maynard High School “Screech Owl is dedicated to a friend who helped us remember our very spe- cial Senior year, someone who we will remember always — Mr. Paul Henning.
