CUTTING English I Senior Class Adviser An interest in literature and practical skill in using the English language will make life easy for students while in school and will give a lifetime ' s satisfac- tion. With this in mind, the English De- partment valiantly attempts to cover the gamut of literature from the ancient world to the twentieth century, dipping liberally into Shakespeare’s works along the way. In its consideration of gram- mar, usage, and composition, it ranges from the squelching of “ain’t” to the avoidance of “squinting modifiers.” ALICE MULLIN also teaches in the English Department.
