This also was the firstyear we had complete sets of uniforms for all squads-a real accomplishment, be- cause all money is earned by the cheerleaders. The Junior High squad has done very well. They ad- ded a first --cheering for football games. We are also proud ofthe fact that each year the Homecoming Queen has been a cheerleader. We have quite a few of our number who are National Junior Honor Society or National Honor Society Members. Our third year in attendance brought us third place in the state and a superior rating for the second year. Our desire is to be number one at the clinic and hold that position for a few years. Andknowing this may be possible makes us work harder. This year we'11 have both Varsity and Junior Var- sity try-outs in the spring, so those squads will have Varsity Cheerleaders Promote School pirzz' LEFT TO RIGHT: Lynn Beuchat, Barbara Fox, Sandy Elkin, Martha Reese, Meloise Howard, Kathy Lemelin, Brenda Jarrell, Pat Duggins, Sharon McAtamney, Wanda Martin.

VOLUME VI . . We would like to take this opportunity to extendnour thanks to our local merchants. Eachyear their contributions to our year- book have helped make it the great success it is today. Every year the Chariot staff and advisors work long and hard to turn out an even bigger and better yearbook. Nat- urally, the expense and cost to turn out such a fine book, increases. We want the stu- dents of Maynard Evans and especially the graduating class to have a record of all the wonderful memories of school days., Be- cause of this desire we try to give fit to the students at the lowest possible cost. We couldn't possibly do this without the many eZdkI2C'QJZk2d12CIk2y pages of 'advertising bought by our mer- chants. The money taken in for advertise- ments handles half of our financial ex- penses. We feel proud too, that our com- munity cares about us. .During the years that the Chariot has been in being, the same merchants have joined with us and each year the newcomers join with them. We are proud, too, of our advertisement, pages. We feel they repres ent the American way of free enterprise and help aid in mak- ing our community grow to be larger and finer. Yes, we salute the merchants of our community and thank themqone and all.-
