The second and most essential book in our Library of Knowledge is the fotmdation for the study of books to come. Our ability to read, comprehend, and use correct grammar is necessary in any field of life. We are fortunate to have an excellent English department in our school. In grammar we diagnose and correct individual weaknesses, place emphasis on usage and construction, and put our skills to work in written compositions. The study of literature helps us to gain an understanding of the beginning of American and English life, to learn to read for the philosophical outlook of the writer, and to appreciate literature as a factor in the development of language. When we become the leaders of tomorrow, our mastery of the myriad facets of commmiication as taught by the English teachers will help to determine the measure of our success and happiness in the future. tenxuaiff She makes us read, read, read.
