Pr iw EI edimiion There is an understanding of students which springs from a genuine interest in them. This, however, is not a passive con- cern. It entails active involvement with the pupils in activities which exist along with their academic pursuits. This year's dedicatee is a math teacher, guidance counselor, the junior varsity basketball coach, and advisor to the Future Teacher's of America Club. In each of these capacities, he has won much more than the respect of the students. This man is Mr. Winning. 1 9 q was nw eg X 1? Egg r W Appreciation ..-4 N Our appreciatee is a business teacher and advisor to the junior class, as well as financial administrator for all of the money making organizations of our school. In addition to being a practical business woman, she is a warm and wonderful person. A number of young people have been guided to careers in the business world by her, and I am sure that they, as well as we, will never be able to thank Miss Pollak enough for the love, energy, and confidence she has invested in our generation. In addition to winning the sectional crown, the Larry Serfis coached hooters also won the Tri-Valley League crown and finished the season with a 10-1-2 record. The Panthers, turned in a good team effort throughout the 1966 season. The team loses only three Seniors and should be a strong team next year. Tight defensive work and a fairly good scoring punch helped the team to have such a successful season. Cross-Cozzniefy 5 S 5g , ,, V ,,., KNEELING L-R: R. Ellis, S. Billman, D. Howard. Steve Billman and Ron Ellis made the Class C, Section II team, and competed in the Intersectionals where they both scored for Section II that place fourth in the state, We, the members of the cross -country team, want to thank Mr. Maderic for coach ing us this season. This was the fifth year in a row for our team to win it 's division and enter the playoffs. After a week's delay due to conflict- ing schedules during the first week of June we lost the playoff to Fonda -Fultonville by a 1-O score. This was a year that indicated just which boys really wanted to play and hustle because of the long, wet and cold spring which resulted in eight games being cancelled. zmimf Vanity Baseball FIRST ROW, L-R: L. AFX' P 3 5 1 I The Junior Varsity baseball team compiled a commendable 6-2 record during the 1966 season. The team's schedule was drastically curtailed due to unusual inclement spring weather and was forced to cancel nearly half of its schedule. The nucleus of the squad was comprised of freshmen who de- spite the reduced schedule maintained a winning spirit and gained a wealth of experience which will serve them well in forth-coming campaigns. The final statistics indicated many impressive individual efforts which contribu- ted to the overall team success. rvwisf W Hfyqp Tmtk KNEELING L-R: R. John Cunningham's leaps in the pole vaulting section proved graceful and granted him a berth on the Section Il team at West Point, Although seeming timid, our runners are cunning, trying to find the weaknesses of their prey, At the last possible second they leap forward for the kill and finish ahead of the pack.
