Christman, R, Castiglione, B. Nicosia, R. Towne, Mr. Wright - Advisor, M. Ernst, D. Towne, L. Crannell, C. Smith, T. Brockhum, L. Maidment Student Council is one of the most active organizations in the school. lt is the voice of the Student Body. The Council does much to promote student interest in the school. It sponsors dances follow- ing basketball games, which are attended by many. It awards honor sweaters and pins to those students who are active in the various school activities. Annually, Christmas Bulletin Board Contests are held. The winner receives a sum of money from the Council. In addition, we transact business, enforce rules and serve the classes in the case that any problem should arise. This year the Panther's growl was not the roar of years before. The team had a campaign of ups and downs, winning five games and dropping five. This year 's team showed a lot of hustle, but the scores didn't come as easy this season. The many new faces in this year's line -up promise successful seasons for tne future. Parker This season Mayfield Central put the largest Varsity Basketball team in its history in uniform. Many problems were to be encountered but the most outstanding was overall inexperience in the players themselves. The inability to find a first string that could run up the points consecutively proved to be one of the pitfalls that faced us this season. Improving as the season moved along the Panthers came to the high point of the season which was the upset victory over Canajoharie on our floor, Although the victories were not too plentiful this season, the squad showed spirit and hustle all through the season. The final statistics showed an impressive 15 wins against 4 losses. The key to the year's overall success was outstanding effort by each individual team member. Six players from .this year's team will be lost through graduation. But, the new faces coming up from the Jayvee team and the returning players from last year's squad should build a strong unit for this year's competition. We hope this season will be as successful as the past season. on Track Q53 Q, Q34 as fm- .VV. 5251 gi' x A if f , s ff ' 4 5 3 r V'?
