CLASS PROPHECY Here it is 1969 and it is the class of 1959's reunion, Everyone isn't here. As at most parties or get togethers, the people are in groups. At the far side of the room there are a few people talking about world affairs. Pat Smullen who is not married yet, and is now the head of the Kitchen Krew of our Alma Mater, is talking to Ed Naylor, a noted statesman from Alaska. Bob Castiglione, who is, or was, a famous scientist, is circling in orbit in his famous space ship. We hope he still is anyway. We haven't seen him since graduation. Gary Carpenter, a leading Hollywood actor is talking to Carol Warner a society leader, about the upper crust of gossip. Sue Jennings, a teacher and wife, is talking to Penny Downs who is a ballet dancer, and hasn't changed a bit since her high school days. Ed Maxson is still driving the bomb although he now drives at Indianapolis with one arm left to go. Tom Blowers, a leading playboy, is discussing our trip to Mars with Maynard Whitman, his chauffeur. Maryann Button, a nurse and traveling companion to Rebecca Strobeck, a hypo- chondriac, and Phyllis Yorks, her Wall Street partner who are financial geniuses, are discussing sickness with Kathy Gray, the manager of Band Aid and Patches Corporation. Marge Ambrosino and Cecilia Warner are the new owners of the former Helen's Lunch Room in Gloversville with Audrey Scott and Carol Nellis as waitresses there. Wayne Marcellus, a policeman and George Seeley a taxidermist, are frequent visitors at the new ownership in Gloversville. Ed Lent is seated by Marion Surdam. Ed told me that he is a coach for a Midget Women's League now. Marion looks very nice. She was Miss America of 1960 who changed quite a lot since her high school days. Donna Dingman, a grease monkey and mechanic, is talking abou the new trend in automobiles to Guy Farrington who is now doing commercials for T.V. such as Mapo advertisements. Sylvia Whitman, a maid to Jackie Parker, who is a model of gym clothes, is seated by Lynn Washburn, a now famous dog trainer. On the other side of the room the talk seems to be louder. In the lounge, Shirley Abel, the manager of a Candy Shoppe Chain, is engaged in a heated conversation with Fay Crossley who is now the new Sgt. Preston of the Yukon on Channel 10. Carol Johnson, a baby bottle tester, is dancing by herself with a hula hoop. Another couple on the floor is Sara Ruliffson, a waitress at that famous restaurant, Lee's, with her husband Richie Getman who is a check-out boy at A 81 P. That was a surprise marriagelll! In another mass, Barb Perkins, the queen of the Beat Generation, is talking to Bev Perry, a progressive jazz singer, and Edie Rutkowski, the star and editor of SHOCK MAGAZINE, Also in the discussion is Karrolle Pilchen, a slinky, night club singer-dancer. Finally, last but not least, sits David Bloom, Esquire. He is by himself, but not alone.
