w! From September through January, the Class of 1955, has attempted to make an improved Yearbook. The book would not have been possible without the help of all the patrons and subscribers. Many thanks are due Mr. Smithers and the faculty for all of their co-operation. We would like to express our appreciation to our coach, Mr. John Boshart and our athletic teams for their accomplishments. Our basketball team for '53-'5h, battled their way to the sectionals in Saratoga, but lost the first night. That is the best any Mayfield basketball team has done yet. Our baseball team was undefeated in league play which is the first time that any team has ac- complished that feat. Our present basketball team, as we end our Yearbook for '55, is undefeated having won 13 straight games. We have high hopes for you, boys, so keep on driving!! In the 1956 edition of the Yearbook there will be a wider coverage of the spring events that have normally been omitted. Examples of this areg the graduation of the present Senior Class, the Senior Ball and an other highlights of the spring. Remember to get your order in for next year's Yearbook to get the complete results and to have a lasting memory of MGS. 7.fa,.....-V V . aan- :2. 2 AS we were completing our Yearbook, we were deeply saddened by the loss of one of the prominent citizens of Mayfield, Mr. Kenneth Davison. He was employed at one time as a custodian and until his last illness, as a bus driver for M.C.S. He was a friend to all of us, a strong supporter of the school and often connected with various community activities. We sincerely sympathize with all those bereaved by his passing.
