To a teacher who has demonstrated her ability for teaching and her love of learning, who has fostered both our intellectual progress and our spiritual ad- vancement, who has been a part of us these past four years, whether initiating us to the fundamentals of literature, helping us to conquer irregular French verbs, or asssiting us as we struggled despairingly with our freshman English compositions . . . To a friend who has won our confidence and esteem by her warmth and humor, who possesses an un- canny talent for brightening her students' darkest moments with a witty anecdote or a buoyant word of praise, who has manifested on innumerable oc- casions her genuine and unfailing interest in each and every one of us . . .
