Sorellas is the junior girls ' service club designed to aid the school in any activity they are needed in. They worked with Key Club and Adelfl on the can food drive at Christmas and donated dolls to needy children. They worked with various other clubs during the United Crusade drive in the fall. The girls followed in tradition by serving as Honor Guards in the Graduation of the class of 1970. teams S.P.E.A.K. walks for hunger Officers: Laurel May. president, Carol Clark, vice-president, Craig Thomas commissioner of morality, Ron Mercer, commissioner of eternal affairs. The Student Political, Educational Activities Klub was formed in 1968. It combined the two groups of ' oung Republicans and Young Democrats. The club participated in the National Hunger Walk in November collecting money for starving people. SPEAK, continued their annual kite flying contest in March. Mrs. Karen Lee sponsors the group. ,

The purpose of Coursairs is to support the athletic program at MHS. particularly the track team. They have purchased various items for the team including a crushed rock surface for the Mon- soon oval. The club is also responsible for the total sponsorship of a needy Korean child. ■ Basketball Club supports Mayfair ' s teams Officers are: Andy Koopman, president; Steve Lewis, vice-president; Slu Smith, secretary; Tod Cowan, treasurer. Basketball ( lub is relatively new. Its purpose is to promote all bas- ketball lc;uns :iMd assist in school activities whenever needed. B GAA plays in flag football tournament Officers: Bonnie Tokamk. president; Sue Gahan, vice-president: Margie Piazza, secretary: Debbie Hemel, treasurer: Jackie Vanderweerd. historian; Sally Whitney, puhhcity; and Kathy Moore (not pictured). Stimulating interest in girls athleties and providing an opportunity for participation and competition is the aim of the Girls Athletic Association. Flag football, badminton, tennis, volleyball, track and archery are a few of the sports in GAA. The organization was in charge of concessions at basketball games this year. Mrs. Sally Poggi is advisor.
