Music Groups Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Leach di- rect the vocal music groups. These in- clude Ninth Grade Mixed Chorus, Ninth Grade Girls' Ensemble, and Eighth Grade Girls' Ensemble. The Eighth and Ninth Grade Choruses participate in many assemblies and concerts including Open House, Christmas Assembly, Spring Festival, and Spring Concert. The instrumental music groups are directed by Mr. Murray. The band, which has sixty eight members, and the orchestra, which has thirty five mem- bers, also participate in Open House, Christmas Assembly, Spring Festival, and Spring Concert. The instrumental groups also go to a state contest each year.

Passing Procto rs Passing proctors are chosen by teachers' ratings in the spring of their eighth grade year. Students then serve at the twenty, fourty, and sixty wing intersections in their ninth grade year. Their job is important because they direct traffic and help to avoid conges- tion. Of those who volunteer, teachers rate them on good citizenship, poise, and a desire to be of service to the school.
