With class discussions and the use of visual aids, filmstrips, and maps, stu- dents will develop a better understanding of history and geography. The purpose of these courses is to give students the opportunity to know and understand different climates and cultures. The main purpose of this department is to help the student to become proficient in his attempt to attack a problem in a logical order. These goals are accomplished through the media of lecture and demonstration, the overhead projector, student ex- planation, and live subject matter experiences. Some of the tools commonly used in math courses are: Compasses, protractors, yard sticks, meter sticks, T squares, and other plastic and wooden figures. Mathematics is more than just looking through a crystal ball. just ask Mitch Milmgren.
