Health As school nurse, Mrs. Shirley tries mainly to keep everyone here in a healthy atmosphere. She takes care of the sick and injured students, and sends them home if necessary. She conducts vision and hearing tests, and refers any students who do not pass these tests to medical treatment or corrections. The T. B. and dental tests are also planned by Mrs. Shirley. Shen then records all tests made at school, in addition to placing the physical examination and dental cards on the permanent records. Baffled. Mrs. Shirley decides the student has test- itis. The Counselors The counselors, Mrs. Briggs and Mr. Frederking, help students select subjects for future years, and help with students' present schedules. Their job is to help students go through the year With the least amount of problems possible. They help new students adjust to Mayberry, and offer advice to students on better co-oper- ation with one another. These counselors serve as an outlet for the individual's emotional problems, and, very importantly, they offer their personal concern and suggestions. Let's see. . . information on how to run a library . . . murmurs Mrs. Armstrong. It's too bad about Joyce james having to repeat ninth grade, Mr. Frederking deadpans to Mrs. Biggs.
