W A man with many responsibilities. . , Mr, Webb. If Administration Mr. Webb and Mr. Hale have gigantic respon- sibilities. They are ultimately responsible for the smooth operation of this school. They are both teachers and learners. Mr. Webb Works mainly with the teachers. He assists them with their problems and he tries to obtain an atmosphere in which the students can work. Most importantly, he is Mayberry's public representative. Mr. Halve is concerned mainly with the students He is responsible for disciplining the studentsg he helps with attendance, and luckily for the students, fixes locks and lockers. As teachers, Mr, Webb and Mr. Hale have a large responsibility, for A teacher affects eter- nityg he can never tell when his influence stops, --THE EDUCATION OF HENRY ADAMS We ihnli A favorite pastime for Mr. Hale. . . ping- pong? 1 I . . . He can never tell where his influence stops. . . ll i Cheeeze, say Mrs. Dole and Mrs. Rose, May- berry's secretaries. ffice Staff t Mayberry's office staff consists of Mrs. Rose, Mrs. Dole, and Mrs. Stabler. Mrs. Rose keeps the school re- cords, writes letters, types bulletins, takes messages, enrolls, the new stu- dents, takes care of attendance at May- berry, in addition to passing out aspirin to teachers for those excedrin headaches. Mrs. Dole's main job is keeping payrolls, keeping bookrentals, writing checks, and handling the data process- ing materials. She calls substitutes when teachers are ill, she calls moth- ers when students are ill, and she keeps Mr. Hale supplied with hard candy. Attendance Aid Mrs. Stabler, Mayberry's attend- ance aid, generally establishes a liai- son service between parents and school personnel, and helps pupils in making a better adjustment in both school and community. Specifically, she establishes case- work procedures with those pupils that develope, or have developed, a chronic or persistent problem. However, the job Mrs. Stabler excels the most in is finding homes for lost puppies. I wonder if Mr. Swiss is having a sale today, muses Mrs. Stabler, Mayberry's attendance aid. The Counselors The counselors, Mrs. Briggs and Mr. Frederking, help students select subjects for future years, and help with students' present schedules. Their job is to help students go through the year With the least amount of problems possible. They help new students adjust to Mayberry, and offer advice to students on better co-oper- ation with one another. These counselors serve as an outlet for the individual's emotional problems, and, very importantly, they offer their personal concern and suggestions. Let's see. . . information on how to run a library . . . murmurs Mrs. Armstrong. It's too bad about Joyce james having to repeat ninth grade, Mr. Frederking deadpans to Mrs. Biggs. The Librar Mrs. Armstrong, the librarian, is responsible for the systematic organi- zation of the library, and for helping students and teachers locate materials for classroom use. Facilities include magazines, lit- erature books, newspapers, records -- with or without ear phones -- film- strips, tapes, globes, and reference books. Students often read for enjoyment or study in the library, as many have found Mrs. Armstrong to be very Will- ing to assist with their studies in any Way she can. Health As school nurse, Mrs. Shirley tries mainly to keep everyone here in a healthy atmosphere. She takes care of the sick and injured students, and sends them home if necessary. She conducts vision and hearing tests, and refers any students who do not pass these tests to medical treatment or corrections. The T. B. and dental tests are also planned by Mrs. Shirley. Shen then records all tests made at school, in addition to placing the physical examination and dental cards on the permanent records. Baffled. Mrs. Shirley decides the student has test- itis. Custodian Our head custodian, Mr. Snethen, is respon- sible for the building maintenance at Mayberry, during and after school hours. He and his staff do a fine job keeping the school building spotless Is it Black Beard's Ghost? No, it's Mr. Means. Speech Mr. Means, our speech clinician, spends only a short time at Mayberry, but while he is here. he works with students who have speech and hearing problems. He not only gives tests to improve speech and hearing, but also helps to improve their communication skills. Daydreaming of a spotless school is Mr. Snethen. 8 :ninth Grade Nme years Nme drops of tlme Nine little years , Dennis Abbott Sheryl Adams Rick Adamson Bill Aiken Cindy Aiken Paul Allen Rita Allen Brent Anderson Bruce Anderson Robin Anderson jackie Arnett Robin Atkinson Michael Atkison Robert Avila Debi Baker Eddie Ballard Bob Ballinger Mark Ballinger Ron Barnhart Roger Batemon Riley Baughn Susan Beason Richard Belcher Ricky Beltz mesuxgw -- hi. ri we f 1 ,,, ',,, 1 if r .,.t,,.k:gi b , 'Q' Q 1 '15 an Q J.
