TWO FORMER CHEERLEADERS return to how to run through the che ers. show the girls Cheerleaders This is the second year that junior high schools have been able to have an organized cheerleading group. These girls promote school spirit by leading the Pep Club in cheers. Their outfits include gold vests and skirts with black pleats, black kneesocks, and a black M emblem on the front. Of the 9th grade girls who tried out, twelve finalists were picked and of these twelve three were picked: Joyce Seevers, Vicki Coats and julie Boyd. Pep Club Pep Club is sponsored by Miss Krack and Mrs. lsernhagen. Members wear the same outfits to school on game days, then to the games. The outfits include black turtleneck sweaters, black kneesocks, gold skirts and vests, with Mayberrybooster buttons. There are no specific requirements tojoin the club, but the girls have to be willing to attend games, learn cheers, and provide their own outfits. Pep Club members cheer at the games as the cheerleaders lead. They all sit to- gether at the games to give the team a boost and encourage school spirit. MAYBERRY CHEERLEADERS: Joyce Seevers, Vicki Coats, and Julie Boyd. 56
