' 14 t 'ff , A if I -ff: A 5 Brown Couni The Brown County Youth Fair rolled around again on january 12, 13, and 14. This year, as every other year, it was cold and wet. It rained on Wednesday night and stayed cold the rest of the time. There was nothing unusual about this year's Youth Fair. The Youth Fair itself started on Wednesday, but for the students it began at the first ofthe year. They had to buy their stock - swine, lambs, rabbits, steers and heifers. They spent quite a bit of money on feed and water for these animals. For the Clothing division, there was also a lot of money spent on material, thread, buttons, etc. It took a long time to prepare for this event that only lasted 3 days. The first day ofthe Youth Fair was Wednes- day. This was the day for the judging of the clothing construction, getting the pigs in the barns, and weighing the lambs. Thursday, pigs were weighed, lambs were judged. and the May FHA members worked in the concession stand. Friday, the dairy cows were shown, and Friday evening the style show took place. Saturday was rabbit judging day, and the steer show. In the Home Economics division the foods, crafts, and canning were judged. The livestock auction brought the 1984 Youth Fair to a close on Saturday night. 1. Melissa Norris placed Sth on her pant suit. She also received high point individual in the Homemaking division, Z.
