V ?uturc Harmcrs af,4mcr1ca Phil Doughty Paul Ward GlendonGr1nstead Mr Rodebeck, Earl Wright, B111Ferr1s Don Hunt The FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA or FFA as it is commonly known, is the national organization of by and for boys studying vocational agriculture in public secondary schools No national student organ ization enjoys greater freedom of self government under adult counsel and guidance than the FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA Among other things members learn through active participation how to conduct and take part in a public meeting to speak in public to finance themselves and to assume civic responsi ibrlrty The foundation upon which the FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA organization is built includes character development, co operation service thrift, scholarship improved agriculture orgamzed rec reation, citizenship and patriotism The FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA is designed to take its place along with other agencies striving for the development of leadership the building of a more permanent agriculture and the improvement of country life On November 3 1953 the Maxwell agriculture boys decided by majority vote to organize a FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA Chapter at Maxwell High School The officers this year are as follows President, Phil Doughty Vice President, Bill Ferris Secretary Earl Wright Treasurer Don Hunt Reporter Paul Ward Sentinel, Glendon Grinstead The advisor is Richard C Rodebeck, Maxwell Vocational Agriculture teacher Our very best wishes and good thoughts go with these FFA Officers To this school organization, the Maxwell Chapter of the FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA -go our best wishes for high accomplishment We hope to be seeing and hearing more of the FFA!
