Ernest P. Hobbie, Principal To The Graduating Class of 1977: | would like to think of graduation from Maxson Middle School as a beginning (com- mencement) rather than a conclusion or ending. Although you are graduating from eighth grade, Ifeel you are moving into a very important stage of your life — high school. You will be earning units each year which will eventually enable you to graduate from high school. Your education should never stop! Every day offers new challenges, opportunities and experiences. You must strive to make each day profitable and successful. Whatever you earn or accomplish will be yours and the more effort you put forth the better prepared you will be for future ventures. Don't look back and apologize for things you should have done but look ahead and be determined to reach the goals you have established for yourself. Many teachers, friends, parents and administrators will offer guidance and support to you. Share their trust and confidence. Discuss problems that concern you and seek the wisdom of others. However, you must realize that you, alone, are the key to your future. You must develop good study habits and self-discipline. You must be prepared to make decisions. We, the staff at Maxson, wish you good health, happiness and success in the years to come. Your principai, Ernest P. Hobbie
