Prophecy On December 6, 1971, FREDDIE MEADOWS received a special delivery letter at her office in the Meadows- Carravvay Interior Decorating House, Inc. , in New York City. She was quite surprised to learn from the return address that it was from LINDA HARRELL Stepps, a hometown girl who had won a 2 weeks ' visit to New York. Linda asked Freddie to have dinner with her at Sardi ' s the following evening. Freddie and her friend and business partner, ELLEN CARRAWAY, met Linda for dinner the next evening. Naturally the conversation turned to their high school days back at old MHS. From the conversation the girls gained the following information: Soon after graduation GENE ALBRITTON became a tobacco auctioneer. BOBBY CARRAWAY is now 7 a popular singer in a nightclub in Hawaii. He got his start by singing Blue Hawaii at the Junior- Senior banquet. He now sings to the merry tune of $450 a week. History Now that we are finally Seniors of 1960-61, we look back into our past and we find that we had some very happy experiences. When we began school, we did not know how big a future lay ahead of us. In the first few years of school we studied hard and enjoyed all the activities that occurred. In the eighth grade, we had a very exciting trip. We visited Raleigh and saw all the famous sites.y The next year we were dignified freshmen, very happy to know that we had at last arrived in high school. We had all looked forward to entering high school, because of the many activities in which we could take part. Some of us became ball players and many of us cheerleaders. In the tenth grade we had a class party chaperoned by our homeroom teacher, Mr. Bryant Tripp. We had a mar- velous time. Mr. Tripp always did love those parties. In our Junior year our most exciting experience was our Junior- Senior Banquet. I think everyone, even our practice teachers, Mr. Sutton and Mr. Eggleston, enjoyed preparing for this. It would have never been a big success if it had not been for Mrs. Allen, our Junior sponsor. Now, at last, we have reached our long awaited year. We have entered our Senior year with the determination of being a great success in the future. Yes, it has been good to be here in Maury High School for these twelve years. We will never forget the wonderful teachers and friends that we have had. We hope that the rising seniors will be able to say that they have enjoyed their school days at Maury High School as we have enjoyed them.
