Class Prophecq I, Faj’e Wooten, after having been in Kinston working as a clerk-typist had just returned to my home at Maury. While unpacking, I found an old Maury Mecca in the bottom of my trunk. Opening the Maury Mecca and seeing the familiar faces of my classmates, I let my mind wander back over ten short years to the night of our graduation. It seemed only a short time since we were laughing and talking together. Today, although we are no longer together, each of my classmates is remembered by me. Down in Texas, Jo Ann Hedgepeth and Ann Beaman are living happily with their husbands who are in the United States Air Force. Already they have seen much of the United States and are hoping to see more of it. At State College, tve see Willie Palmer Faulkner walking across the campus. He has served eight years in the army and is now preparing himself for a successful farming life. In Del Rio, Cuba, Bonnie Ruth Rouse is doing a great work as a missionary. Erma Johnson is one of Raleigh’s more successful beauty operators. Virginia Dare Stocks has just moved to Snow Hill where she is kept busy keeping house for her husband. Until this time she has done outstanding work as an Air Force Nurse. In Chicago, Joe Jones is a noted dentist. Ruth Graves is kept busy as his secretary. Marietta Trippe is happily married and is living in Grifton where she frequently entertains her bridge club. Evonne Smith is working with a small firm in Greenville doing general office obby Meadows is a millionaire living in Washington, D. C. where he works with the F. B, I. just to pass away his time. Bill Carroll and his family are living in Little Washington where he is a well known commercial pilot. Since his graduation he has been in the Air Force. At San Antonio, Texas, Robert Lee Moye and Joseph Pippin are enjoying themselves in the Air Force, cleaning ash trays for officers. After getting out of the Navy, Edwin Earl Jones has settled down on a farm near Lizzie. On a farm near 4-Way Albert Wood and his family have a cute home in which they hope to remain the rest of their days. Ruth Murphery is a trained nurse. She received her training in Wilmington. In Charlotte, Edith Horne is working with the F, B. I, Until four years ago she was a telephone operator. Ray Beaman is in the Air Force. He says he will settle down when he gets old enough. Herman Croom is an agriculture teacher at Maury. He graduated from State with high honors. Jackie Jones is also teaching at Maury. At E. C. C. she majored in Home Ec. and has been teaching it at Maury ever since. Oscar Ross has been lucky. He managed to stay out of service and is now a radio announcer in Raleigh. He has a nice home on Hillsboro Street where he and his wife and children live. We see Ellen Johnson living on a farm. She isn’t rich, but she is making enough money to live on, and any time she feels like taking a vacation she is free to do so. James Carraway is married and living in the house with his parents. They live on a farm just outside of Maury. Faye Wooten Prophet Page Thirteen
