COLORS Green and Yellow MOTTO We strive for a higher goal. FLOWER Gladiolus a ate jpwpliectj I, Alice Mills, am enjoying a vacation at my home in the rural district of Maury. I shall soon return to Washington, D. C. where I work with the F. B.I. Agency. While looking through the contents of an old trunk in my room, I found a copy of the Maury Mecca. As I turned the pages, memories came flooding back. The dear faces of my classmates appeared to me as they had been on the night of our graduation, just eight short years ago. Today Madeline Albritton lives in Snow Hill where she teaches. Rachel Albritton and Geraldine Murphy operate a beauty parlor in Greenville, N. C. Peggy Allen is a telephone operator. In France, Bobbie Sue Bowen has become a famous home economist. She will return to the states soon. Janie Grace Bowen is happily married and lives near Farmville. Joanna Butts is secretary to the president of a large transportation firm. Ann Elks is a famous Army nurse. At the present time, she is stationed in Italy. Tommy Godley has become well known in Eastern North Carolina as a tobacco farmer. Harold Hinnant works for the state. He has become a civil engineer. Julius Hughes is a well known agricultural leader. He operates a famous dairy farm. Bessie Morgan is a laboratory technician in Duke Hospital. A. L. Moye finally got through school and is doing a splendid job as athletic director at State College. Doris Mozingo lives near Maury. She has an adorable husband! In China, Thelma Stocks has become a missionary. Dorothy Taylor is happily married. Deane Wooten is outstanding as a Baptist Youth Director. Eddie Ray Moore is a radio technician at Cherry Point. Carroll Skinner operates a very prosperous farm. Wallace Stocks is an excellent salesman for the Brown Color Company, which is well-known today all over the world. Charles Vick drives a truck. He covers the territory from Maine to Florida. At last the book fell to the floor. The noise brought me out of the reverie into which I had fallen. The pictures had brought back memories of the past, never to be forgotten. Although the years have pass ed, my memories of our high school days are as vivid as ever. Alice Mills Prophet
